I would love to have some discussion in the next meetup on implementing an SOA based website using PHP.

Let us say we need to build a complex web site with many features. How to divide it into several components so that we can possibly outsource to several developers? These components need to be pretty self contained so that they can be developed and tested independently.

I have heard that Amazon.com is implemented using this type of SOA architecture.

What are the best practices to implement such a web site in PHP? Any examples? If you could share your experiences during the meetup, that would be great.
